White Tulips With Freesias

An acrylic painting on canvas panel from 1998, the vase was made by the Selborne Pottery in Hampshire and also appears in a watercolour painting of different flowers. I enjoy the contrasting shapes in this arrangement - the leaves drooping down as the flowers reach upwards. As far as I can remember this was painted from life rather than a photo, although I think I improvised the background a little to throw the subject forward. I recently rediscovered this painting in a folder so am glad to be able to share this now for sale!
