Sailing

Painted in 2000, this is a watercolour of a sailing boat on a lake. It was based on a photograph that we took on a trip out as a family. I enjoyed being a bit more spontaneous with this - you can't risk overworking a watercolour as it will just get muddy! It's definitely more an impression of the scene, an attempt to capture the movement of the boat on a choppy lake.

It is painted on watercolour paper, 13 1/2" x 10" (35cm x 25.4cm), and is unframed.
