Ian's Rose Bouquet

This painting of a bunch of red roses dates from 2008. My wife bought them for me for Valentine's day, and they are pictured on the windowsill of our living room in bright sun. I wanted it to be a loose, spontaneous painting, capturing the rich brightness of the flowers against the surrounding shades of green, both in and outdoors. Yes - green outdoors in February in England! It's a yellow-green conifer hedge in the background there.

It's an original acrylic still life, painted on a canvas panel. It measures 18" x 14" / 457mm x 356mm, and is unframed.
