Christmas Light 2

One of a series of conceptual paintings around the theme of light at Christmas, I wanted to combine the idea of a journey of faith with the popular idea of a decorative candle holder as a Christmas decoration, and how easy it is to just see the season as an excuse to decorate the house cheerfully for a couple of weeks. The path to Bethlehem reaches in from both sides, and light shines from every window, and the candle itself, as a symbol of hope.

It is painted in acrylic on a canvas panel which is 14" x 9.75" (356mm x 236mm). It is unframed.
