An acrylic portrait of a magellanic penguin, painted by myself in 1996. This painting was originally designed for the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists for possible use as a Christmas card. It is on a Daler canvas panel, measuring 203mm x 254mm, or 8" x 10" which is a standard UK frame size. Copyright is owned by the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists.

I was working on a series of snow pictures for the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists; our main market is for Christmas cards so a wide selection is always important so that there are a lot to choose from. I love penguins, they have great characters and pose so well. We have seen them in captivity in several zoos over the years and always take a great many reference shots!
